Home Plate

Final Product
It's been a while since I've battered up and baked a fancy cake.  I seldom did so without inspiration.  On this day, I was inn-spired.

A beloved colleague of mine was turning 50 and I couldn't let that go by without hitting one out of the park for him.  An avid fan of America's pastime, he would truly appreciate my design.

I set my mind on a Home Plate theme - garnished with baseball cap and a few other accoutrements.

Back in what feels like my very own Home Base - the kitchen...which quickly transformed into a beautiful disaster.

In no time, Yours Truly was covered in Cake Flour and Confectioner's Sugar.  Good times!

Of course, this project promised to be a lot of work.  I'd be toiling for hours.

But I did so, without regret.  Because there is no keeping score, when it comes from the Heart...and there's no better way to play the game.

Sweet Dreams,
Me
