Dear Saint in the Nick of Time

I know Thanksgiving Fare is barely digested, but I can't help but feel all a'twinkle - knowing what's just around the corner!

For those who don't know me, you should know that Christmas is, by far, my favorite time of year.  Teed up by Autumn, which I adore, the Holidays just bring it Home for me.  I live for these precious few weeks each year.

Everything about Christmas (other than the unbearably crowded stores) makes me happy.   Driving by houses adorned with sparkling Christmas Lights as I listen to non-stop Holiday Music on the radio...is the perfect recipe to a pleasant day for me.  Even the incessant TV ads...tickle me pink, so long as they include some jingling bells.

From the brink of Thanksgiving Day, when the local stations start spewing out Santa Baby and Oh Tannenbaum, my tuner stays put - straight through 'til the festive music fades.  Not everyone gets as big a thrill as I do...but those who love me have learned to live with the zeal with which I embrace this Holiday.

And all of the parties - whether mine or another's - invite me to get dolled up in Satin and Stilettos.  It is pure elegance this season - with a soft, fuzzy underpinning of warmth and love.

I guess it's just the emphasis on Home and Family and Good Cheer that reels me in.  The lure of decorating, cooking and entertaining  - the ultimate Yuletide Trifecta.  I just can't help but to imagine the Inn of my Sweet Dreams during this time of year.  Immediately a smile illuminates my face.

If I had it my way, my Evergreen would already be in place...boasting its presence in my glass entryway for all the neighborhood to see.  But an early Winter trip next week will put that plan on hold until I return.  I looked forward to having that piney scent throughout my home.

The thought of unwrapping my ornaments and embellishing the Tree - made me wish I had someone special to share that with.  But alas, this was most likely not that year.  Maybe next year, I say to myself, I'll receive that special gift of True Love.  I was optimistic...for the closer I got to finding the Real Me again, the closer I was to finding the Man of my Sweet Dreams.  I think I'm just about there.

Add that to the top of my Wish List, Santa.  Pepper in a commissioned Architectural Plan for my Sweet Dream and some semblance of an idea of where I'll be living this time next year for good measure - and my List is complete.

I promise to leave you some cookies, good Ole Saint Nicolas.  Homemade, of course.

Sweet Dreams,
Me

  1. Christmas is important for your dram inn. Start the tradition the first year and families will always come to celebrate with you.
