Party of Two

A dinner party once planned for six...melted into a cozy meal for two.  The multiplied settings disappeared one by one, until only a couple remained.  It didn't stop me, though, from making my small gathering a lovely one.

I do love my little home and dressing it up is my greatest delight.  Wine and cheese resting on my now worn-out French cutting board...with chocolate and nut accoutrements.  I truly lived for this.

Entertaining to some proves a stressor.  To me, it's what's puts me most at peace.  Planning the details, deciding the menu, making everything just right...gives me such satisfaction I can hardly believe.

As I awaited my now singular guest, I lit the fireplaces and let the wine breathe.  I was eager to see the reaction to the ambiance and the food I had prepared...like a dog hungry for an atta boy.

For whatever reason, Domestic Perfection made me feel whole.  Whenever I falter somewhere else in life or lack something here or there... I return to the kitchen, to the home... and all of that disappears.

Because, here ... is where I'm at my Best.  Sweet Dream here I come.

Sweet Dreams,
Me

  1. If I was entertaining only one guest and I had to pick the perfect bottle of wine for a memorable occasion it would be one of the Williams Selyem Pinot Noirs. After that, the night is a complete victory. It goes with any food and more importantly with any mood.
