Inn Counsel

Fortunate enough to have a friend who is not only a prestigious Hotelier but also a brilliant attorney, I passed along the Architect's Proposal to get his advice.

He deliberated over every detail and laid out a list of contract amendments I should request.  The central concern - mounting costs.  If I could limit the expense to the $7,500 proposed....then he agreed, I should go ahead and have my Sweet Dream put into a legal, visible form.

However, there were many things to consider.  How many drafts would we go through (within the confines of the budget) before the Master Concept Plan or MCP is finalized?  It's unlikely we'd get it down on the first try, so I needed to know how many appeals I would get.

The Proposal listed a target completion date of 2-4 weeks.  I assumed this was for my benefit, but my expert adviser clarified that for me.  He explained that if the see-saw of Design Ideas went beyond that point, that would tip the scale in their financial favor.

This, I could not afford.

So I would present my Dream Architect with my Counsel's case to see if they had any objections.

The most important advice he gave was to be sure the relationship between my chosen Architect and me always remained civil, tried and true to my objectives.

Sweet Dreams,
Me
