No matter what any Architect could create, I knew the Inn & Bakery had to be a direct Reflection of Me. Everything from Exterior Elevations to the Interior Details needed to be mirror images of Me from the inside-out. For this Dream was born of my Heart and Soul.
This would be my Haven. My Sweet Dream realized and it needed to be as Perfect as possible.
The Architectural Proposal arrived to me - only days after my initial talk with the Architect from New York. I was impressed with his speedy response.
He outlined the scope of work which would include artist renderings of the Exterior, general Interior layouts (with expansion plans attached), design idea boards and research on the Inn Market.
The sticker price: $7,500. I admit, I feared it could be worse. In all honesty, I had no idea what to expect. However, this was still a sizable amount of cash during a slightly cash-strapped time. But I loved the idea of SEEING my Sweet Dream before me - like a living work of art.
An extraordinarily successful investor/hotelier friend of mine whom I hold in very high regard - advised me to circumvent the Architectural Route by simply hiring an artist to draft an Exterior Rendering instead. He thought it would adequately serve as the Visual Model I needed to move forward toward my Dream.
While I knew this made fiscal sense - I felt a need to dig in deeper. To go the "drawing" route without real research or planning seemed less legitimate to me. After all, If I didn't fully invest - how could I expect to Reap the Harvest of my Sweet Dream?
I forwarded the plans on to my friend and awaited his response.
Sweet Dreams,
