I've been off the grid for 10 days and I'm not happy about it. Sorry.
Here's the reason (warning, it has nothing to do with my Sweet Dream). I've been focusing on all the wrong things and some of the wrong people. The two go hand in hand.
As you know by now, I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. Soooo...as you can probably guess, I've been focusing more on my Social Life than my Dream Life. That, in and of itself, is not a problem. However, when it detracts from your goal - it derails the whole shabang.
Why you ask? Because (according to Life Coach, Steve Truitt) when you are honed in on your Sweet Dream - you are your truest "you". When you are your truest "you" - the person you are truly meant to be with will find you. Your energy will draw them near and your heart will be open to them. It's THAT person who will fulfill you. Not only will he be getting to know the real me stripped of my work title and public image - he'll be attracted to the person I aspire to be.
On the contrary, if I keep doing what I've been doing all these years by simply living the Status Quo - nothing in my life will change. My career, my love life...all of it will remain the same. And that's not the Sweet Dream I had in mind.
In fact, in these last couple of weeks, I've invested time in people who remind me of my past instead of inspiring my future. How did I fall back into this rut, I asked myself. By inadvertently focusing on Finding love instead of letting love find me.
Follow the Dream...and in the wake of that path will appear the Rest of Your Life.
Here's hoping.
Here's hoping.
Sweet Dreams,
Me
"There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous." - Carrie, Sex and the City.
