I just finished baking a homemade Pumpkin Tart and my house smells like I've died and gone to Confection Heaven. Not a bad place to reside.
Suddenly, I'm in this Peaceful Place that nothing and no one can disrupt. With the muted sound of the News in the background, I find a tranquility here that few things can gift me but Pure Love. Every thought I've had racing around my head over the past few days is put away...locked in the cupboard for another day.
Some things just need to cool on the rack while you focus on the task at hand. And what a relief to the Soul that can be.
Right now, my kitchen is all the company I need. The oven blazing, the food processor hungry for more work, the smell of Pumpkin and Spices... My glass is half full.
It was my first attempt at this Bakery Delight and I passed with flying colors. I sliced open two fresh pumpkins, scraped them clean inside (saving the seeds to make Roasted Pumpkin seeds), baked the fleshy core and made Fresh Pumpkin Puree. I made Ginger Snap crust, melding it to the mold...feeding the shell with my just-made filling.
And I smile...because now I am back in the Real World - a little less stressed and much more at one with the Universe.
This is where I belong. And I am exactly where I am meant to be.
Sweet Dreams,
Me
