At long last, I would learn the intricacies of Cake Decorating! Rachel the Baker and I nailed down a date (about a month from now) when we'd meet at my home for a marathon day-long session full of Flour and Frosting. Oh, what a delight!
Meantime, an upcoming Baby Shower for a friend had me motivated to get to Baking once again, in short order. I'd committed myself to providing the Cake during what was sure to be a very hectic day. It had to be done by tonight. My friend, Mike (the Bakery Owner), promised to come over to lend a hand and maybe teach me a thing or two.
It was the Perfect Excuse to go back to my Heaven on Earth - Sur la Table! I went in search of a Standing Mixer to make my Cake Baking extravaganzas that much LESS work. And boy, did I score!
Not only did I purchase a Standing Mixer, but I bought the Mack Daddy of all Standing Mixers fit for the home - The Kitchen Aid Pro 600 Series! My Baker friend, Rachel, said it was the biggest and best I could get for home purposes and that it was a great one. The bonus - it was on sale!
So now it sits proudly in my kitchen, too big to fit on the counter top beneath the upper cabinetry. No matter...I'd buy a special cart to host it's omnipresence in my kitchen!
Sometimes it's the little (eh hem) kitchen appliances that make all the difference. :)
I'd put my new Mixer to good use immediately.
Sweet Dreams,
Me
