Hi. It's the Little Sister again. Like many of you out there, I happen to be in a period of my life that consists of a lot of emotional ups and downs (my own personal mental mixing bowl). Reading my sister's latest entries has really helped to lift my spirits. What is it about inspirational people that inspires others? The excitement, the enthusiasm, the motivation or the sheer zest for life? And not only life, but every day life!
An inspired person sees every day as a new and exciting adventure and it's amazing that we don't all live our lives that way. But I'll tell you what - I'm sure going to try from here on out. I want to feel that excitement for life and frankly I have every reason in the world TO feel that way. I just need to get my mind (and soul) wrapped around it - like my Big Sister has done.
Something she wrote really grounded me. It was actually a quote she added to the end of one of her blogs. It's one of life's small wonders, how a simple word, statement or quote can turn your attitude right around!
"The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one." - Mark Twain
I didn't realize what I was doing until I read that. I have been looking at my daily tasks almost as one big daunting task. It was dragging me down, causing me to put EVERYTHING off to the next day, and then the next day, so on and so on until I anchored myself! And that one quote put it all into perspective for me. Reading how my Sweet Dreamer sister is getting through each day one task at a time...is truly inspirational to your me.
Remember, it’s great to have a schedule but don’t let that schedule become an anchor that weighs you down as each day grows closer to your end date. As long as you keep focused and keep moving forward, your Sweet Dreams will come true.
Love,
Little Sister
