Batter Up

Inspired by a perfectly timed email from my sister full of Bakery ideas, the occasion had arisen to put one of my favorite recipe's to work!  More than two years ago, in preparation for my dear sister's first Baby Shower, I found the perfect formula for what would become a Slice of Heaven on a plate.  It was my first attempt at serious baking and it was a glorious success.  A simple, yet delectable recipe for Vanilla Rum Cake that I dared any dieter to resist.  This would be my trademark temptation! 

Tomorrow I would host one of my closest friend's Birthday party.  On the Menu - what had now, unbeknownst to anyone, become the future staple Cupcake of my Confectionary Dream!  But it was time to wake up, pinch myself and get to work.  My cupboards were bare - starving after a week's worth of feeding my mental and emotional goals.  It was time to hit the store for certain.

These couldn't be just any cupcakes.  Little did my guests know, these would serve as a secret Taste Test more valuable than any Critic's Choice.  For this would mark the unofficial debut of my fait accompli.

Just as I turned the page toward this new chapter in my life, a serendipitous package arrived.  Three of the books I'd ordered were packed inside!  I placed them on my kitchen counter and smiled.  They would have to wait until another day - because today was about my tomorrow...and that meant it was time to batter up and BAKE!
