Procrastination is the enemy in times like these. The longer you let your anxiety marinate, the more bitter it tastes.
So I chose to snap out of it. Digging in was the only way to cool my anxiety. Taking that first step made it a reality. And that was the hardest part.
Once I began, though, my proactive behavior helped me to feel more in control.
At once, I was reminded that things are only as a big a deal as you allow them to be. Nothing substitutes fear like a sense of control. By being Prepared, rather than being Scared...I put myself in the driver's seat and created a recipe for calm.
Overnight, things took a turn for the better. I vowed to not hide under the sheets, but instead to clean house emotionally. I'd scrub every nook and cranny - until I felt ready for any unexpected guests.
Sweet Dreams,
Me
