No question about it...I had a big day ahead of me. The Laundry on my List was still sitting in the dryer as the wrinkles set in. Today was the day I'd run it through one last wrinkle release and get to folding.
The Innkeeper I'd contacted, by the name of Christine, would be expecting my call sometime today (which I'll update directly afterward in a follow-up blog). My initial questions would center around the best and worst of an Innkeeping Life. The other more detailed inquiries I thought would be better delved into on a personal trip to her B&B. I hoped she'd be open to that.
The book I'd purchased was not reading itself and I was seriously lagging in my diligence to sit down and read. Rather than procrastinating another day (which is the easiest thing in the world to do) - I needed to suck it up, down that cup of caffeine and get to it. Like many, I blame the Internet for being my most addictive distraction. Time to kick that attention-devouring habit, to be sure.
Meantime, a fortune cookie gifted me this yesterday.

Not that I put too much stake in paper destiny, but I do believe that mantra to be true. So as daunting as Lists can be, looming over you like a cumulus cloud...they also help keep you on track toward realizing your eventual fate. Without a month-long deadline just days away, this task deferment could go on for weeks, perhaps even months. I admit it...on occasion, it's one of my greatest weaknesses. This dream of mine, however, was on mere Layaway and my first payment was due in the next couple of days.
Some of the Unchecked Items on my list were beyond my control. I had yet to hear back from the Baking Class I'd reached out to via email. This would occasion a phone call instead. Nor had I heard back from the Running Club I'd emailed. In fact, I emailed the Coach directly...and got no response in return. Hmmph. So while not every undone task rest solely on me...I had to find ways to put it all to bed in a timely fashion.
And so the pressure cooker begins. Time to light a fire under my hiney and get things done!
Sweet Dreams,
Me
